Announcing the Winner of the FREE HomeSource Home Makeover Contest!
From February through May, applicants entered to win the annual free HomeSource Home Makeover. Each Friday a finalist was drawn randomly and on June 3rd, Doris Curbelo’s name was picked from the 12 finalists. A crew from HomeSource Real Estate, makeover partners and the Y102, KAT Country and The FOX radio station vans showed up at her residence to surprise her, complete with balloons and signs.
Doris was completely surprised as the HomeSource and radio crew honked and yelled till she awoke and came out of her house. “I think I am dreaming. I can’t believe it!” exclaimed Doris Curbelo.
The contest winner had a variety of dreams and the HomeSource Makeover partners set out to complete as many as possible. Partner Country Oak & Stoves helped fulfill her desire to replace her wood burning stove to heat her two-story home. Wood for the stove was furnished by Bun Warmers Firewood and Valley Tree Care trimmed the trees above the chimney. Helping to make this dream a reality were donations from Kimberly & Guy Burnett of State Farm and Tom Gay of Mortgage Solutions & Financial.
Upon noticing a gas leak during the surprise reveal at the winner’s house, Hitt Plumbing was called to the rescue and re-vented her clothes dryer, as well as replaced multiple toilets. Overseeing the entire remodel project was ServPro while Steeno Design worked to ensure a beautiful interior design that included carpet donated in part by Carpet Club.
DG Lawncare and Coyote Loco Property Maintenance planted over 50 plants donated by Mark & Nellies Nursery, as well installed beautiful new walkways with rock donated by Angel’s Rock and Sand. HD Art N Frame donated framed art, while Athena Jean & Day Spa provided $500 gift certificates to the top 3 finalists.
